Every year, the Thanksgiving season serves as a reminder to reflect on the many blessings we’ve received. And here at City Rescue Mission, we’ve noticed that the gratitude of this season often leads people in the community to give back. Volunteering during the holidays has become a family tradition for many. Local companies and churches have also adopted the tradition of helping at the Mission during this season. On Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, CRM hosts banquets serving traditional holiday meals to those who may not otherwise have them. Although these banquets are hosted at CRM, our volunteers are the true hosts. At each banquet families, companies and churches host tables, which includes decorating the table, providing dessert and sharing a delicious meal with those being served. This has become an annual tradition for many—more than half of the tables are hosted by past volunteers! In fact, thanks to the support of generous people like you, we have volunteers for every table this year!
“ We consider it a true blessing to be able to serve and be a part of that special time of year with the people at the City Rescue Mission.”
