Return to Emergency Services

Spiritual Guidance

Drive through the streets of downtown Oklahoma City and the needs of the homeless and poor are surely evident.  The broken woman on the corner—dressed for attention, not for warmth—desperately longs for a safe night’s rest.  The elderly man leaning against a brick wall for support after a night of drinking … his body yearns for a nourishing meal.

At City Rescue Mission, we not only meet these physical needs but also address the not-so-obvious needs—salvation, forgiveness, hope.  We believe lasting life change can only come when the heart is changed.

From the first intake interview and throughout each person’s stay with us, individual prayer is incorporated into every aspect of our ministry.

Worship services are held in our chapel.  Here, the homeless can hear the Gospel proclaimed and learn new ways to cope through God’s power rather than their own.

Our staff and volunteers reflect the love of Jesus Christ and share messages that demonstrate new and abundant life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
