Return to Emergency Services

Medical and Dental Clinic

At City Rescue Mission, we believe health care is a right, not a privilege.  Thanks to a team of dedicated professionals who volunteer their time, homeless men, women and children staying in the Mission’s emergency dorm or in the long-term recovery program receive medical and dental care in our on-site clinics at no charge.

Medical Clinic

Being on the streets is tough on the bodies of homeless men and women.  Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, unsanitary living conditions and poor nutrition all contribute to the poor health of these hurting souls.

Our medical clinic is available to help care for residents in our long-term recovery program, our overnight guests and the impoverished in our community.  Our professional health-care staff provides free diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic problems such as frostbite, diabetes, wounds, respiratory illnesses, dehydration, cold and flu.  We continually strive to identify unmet needs, expand services and help the poorest among us overcome barriers to care.

To schedule a medical appointment, please call (405) 232-2709, ext. 149.  Walk-in appointments are available.

Pediatric Clinic

Oftentimes, homeless children haven’t had proper health care or vaccinations.  Our volunteer staff is able to provide state-required immunizations and well-child screenings, educate parents on preventive health for their children, help with feeding problems and treat minor illnesses.  Colds, flu, bronchitis and ear infections are common ailments for homeless boys and girls.

To schedule a medical appointment, please call (405) 232-2709, ext. 149.  Walk-in appointments are available.

Dental Clinic

Most homeless don’t have access to dentistry.  By the time men, women and children come to City Rescue Mission, their teeth have been sorely neglected for years.  Our dental clinic is staffed by volunteer dentists and hygenists who care for existing problems and teach the homeless how to care for their teeth on a daily basis.

To schedule a dental appointment, please call (405) 232-2709, ext. 108.  Walk-in appointments are not available for the dental clinic.

Fast Fact:  Annually, we see more than 250 children in our dental clinic.
