A Hot Meal and Hope Go Hand in Hand

“My kids were real hungry and I couldn’t do anything,” says a homeless mom.  “I knew how hungry I was so it hurt me to know my kids were that hungry.”

Hunger hurts.  It tears at your stomach and it cripples your hope.

Throughout Oklahoma, moms and dads are working day-in and day-out trying to provide for their families, yet often barely getting by.  They pay the rent in lieu of buying groceries.  And sadly, every day men and women addicted to drugs and alcohol choose to buy their next high instead of a good meal.

At City Rescue Mission, we know food nourishes the body, but it also encourages the soul.  That’s why we serve three meals a day, 365 days a year, in our public dining hall for the hungry and impoverished in our community and the men, women and children staying in our facility.  When the need for food is met, these hurting people can begin to put their lives back together.

Fast Fact:
City Rescue Mission serves nearly 1,200 meals a day to the hungry in Oklahoma City!
