Ways to Share through Material Gifts

Every year, we reach thousands of people with life-giving help.  Our annual budget includes the cost for electricity, gas, and maintenance for our 85,000-square-foot facility, linens, towels, and many other supplies that we provide for our overnight guests and the men, women and children in our recovery program—from milk, toothpaste and laundry soap to Bibles, shoes and cold medicines.

How do we meet the day-to-day needs of a ministry this size? We rely on the generosity of individuals, churches, businesses and civic groups who extend their support through in-kind donations.  Each item donated by friends like you frees up dollars for other general fund needs.

We welcome your in-kind donations of the following:

Food: City Rescue Mission serves nearly 400,000 meals a year—that’s nearly 1,100 meals a day!  We always need sugar, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, cheese, hot and cold cereals, and other staples.

Personal items: Like your family, our “family” uses personal items such as disposable razors, antiperspirant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bath soap, shampoo, diapers and feminine products.

Medical and Dental Supplies:  The homeless and impoverished often suffer with stomach and respiratory conditions, foot problems and seasonal illnesses.  You can help with donations of nonalcoholic cold and flu medications; pain relievers; antacids; foot powders and creams; Benadryl; cough drops and sinus medications; dental floss; and bandages of all sizes.  Click to view our Medicine Chest drive.

Clothing: While our homeless guests and recovery program residents rebuild their self-esteem and other inner qualities, we want to provide clothing so their “outward” appearance reflects their life changes.  We need socks and underwear, jeans, coats, work shoes, tennis shoes and dress shirts in all sizes (especially plus and tall sizes).

When you give, please remember to:

• Bring new or clean, gently used items.  Please don’t give torn, stained or broken items that will cost the Mission money in disposal expenses.

• Drop off in-kind donations at City Rescue Mission, 800 W. California Avenue, Oklahoma City, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

We can not accept the following items at City Rescue Mission:

• Used toys
• Kitchen and other household appliances
• Washers and dryers
• Furniture
• Mattresses
• Computers and computer equipment
• Electronics such as televisions, radios, etc.

Thanks for serving the homeless and poor through your donations!
