Wouldn’t it be great if you received double of everything you paid for?  You order one pizza, and the delivery man brings you two.  At the market, you pay for one bag of groceries, and the clerk gives you another bag free.  You buy half a tank of gas for your car, and the station attendant tells you to top it off, no extra charge.

The world doesn’t work that way … except right now at City Rescue Mission!

Thanks to a generous challenge grant offered by Pumps of Oklahoma, Inc. owners Dick and Terri Greenly, every dollar you give to the Mission through June 30 will be doubled.

Here’s how this challenge grant works:

If the Mission can raise $75,000 by June 30, Pumps of Oklahoma, Inc. and their employees will match every single dollar, for a total donation to the Mission of $150,000!

Your gift of $25 becomes $50 … your gift of $100 becomes $200! Just imagine how many people will be impacted by your gift when it’s doubled!

• When you provide a meal for a homeless man who hasn’t eaten for days, you’re also helping to serve dinner for the hungry man in line behind him.
• When you offer a safe haven to a homeless family who has been sleeping in their car, you also enable us to shelter a second family in crisis.
• When you fund Christian recovery services for a drug addict desperate to get clean, you offer the same help and hope to her friend, who also wants to get off the streets.

This Matching Gift Challenge couldn’t have come at a better time.  Giving to the Mission usually drops in the summer months, as people go on vacation and forget to send their regular gifts.  At the same time, demand for our services usually increases during the summer because more families find themselves homeless when the weather warms up.

With $75,000 in donations from friends in our community, combined with $75,000 in matching gifts from Pumps of Oklahoma, Inc., we will have $150,000 to provide the homeless food, shelter, medical care, long-term Christian guidance, recovery services, education and so much more!
