Give Them Rest Challenge!

Nearly 270 homeless men find refuge at City Rescue Mission’s men’s emergency shelter every night. Regrettably, 100 of these men must sleep on the floor due to the lack of bed space.
Even though sleeping on the floor inside our warm and safe shelter is far better than sleeping on the streets or in drug houses, this is not the dignified way we want to help these broken fathers, sons and brothers build stable, productive lives.
To help address this critical need, the Mission has drawn up plans to expand the men’s emergency shelter.
Project Plans and Budget
· Relocate the maintenance warehouse
· Renovate the warehouse space for emergency shelter
· Purchase bunks, mattresses and linens
Estimated cost: $60,000
Recently Janet McNutt, a friend and faithful financial partner of the Mission’s, learned these exhausted, aching men were sleeping on the floor instead of in a bed, and she agreed that something had to be done—and done quickly. Understanding funds are not available in the Mission’s current fiscal year budget for this project, Janet generously pledged a $30,000 gift from The Bill and Sally McNutt Foundation if the Mission can raise $30,000 from other concerned business and civic leaders in our community. This project is so important, the deadline to raise the $30,000 has been extended to May 15.
That means your support of $50, $100 or even $1,000 will be matched by a gift from the McNutt Foundation—doubling the impact your gift can make in the lives of homeless men.
To make your gift online, click DONATE ONLINE and select “Men’s Beds/McNutt Challenge” from the designation menu. Please don’t delay!
Together, we can offer homeless men a comfortable place to rest and transform their lives.
