The Women’s Center BTL program just finished its ten week assessment week with activity ranging from a trip to the Cowboy Hall of Fame, a movie at North Park Mall, bowling at Meridian lanes, special projects around the city rescue mission and ending the week with an Ugly Betty contest and karaoke. The ladies enjoyed every event and were so thankful to the staff and volunteers for doing so much for them. We really had a good time during the Ugly Betty contest and karaoke. The ladies were put on a team of 4 and they choose who they wanted to dress up ugly. There were clothing, makeup and a variety of supplies for the ladies to use to make up their Ugly Betty. All in all it was a tremendous week of fun, laughter and just enjoying a week of good fun events.

Women’s Center Events going
on in the last week we have a new bridge one teacher our very own
administrative assistant Kim Combs. Kim has graciously agreed to take on
teaching a new curriculum to our bridge one ladies which is “Steps to Freedom
in Christ”. We believe that with this new curriculum the clients will be better
ready for Ms. Ellen’s class on bridge two.

In that we have moved Anger management to Friday at 9:15 program class for all the clients. We are hoping
that with this anger management will be reinforced for all bridges.

We had BTL graduation last Tuesday Jan. 12 @ 7pm in the Chapel, 4 ladies
graduated. Three of them from our families ministry and one from our
singles.

The celebration opened with a few words from Pastor Tom Jones
our President/CEO for the mission, which followed with prayer, a
scripture reading and worship. Attendance was at an all time high with
the chapel full to over flowing with clients, guests and staff.

We proudly watched as mothers and children walked across the stage together
as the journey was completed as a family unit. It was an exciting event
for the entire mission.
